INSTRUCTIONS
ON USE OF APARTMENT THERMOSTAT

Located
in each apartment is a thermostat that controls the temperature in the
apartment unit. The thermostat controls
both the heat and air conditioning. In
order for you to save electric useage, thusly reducing your monthly billing
from Cincinnati Gas and Electric we have prepared this informational sheet.
The
following are instructions on how to use your thermostat in your apartment unit
to adjust the heating and cooling to your desired temperature.
GENERAL
- Locate the thermostat
on one of the walls in the apartment unit.
- Please use Exhibit A
above to assist you to recognize and clearly identify that you have found
the thermostat.
- A temperature reading
should be visible on the thermostat.
- Upon opening the door
on the thermostat (see Exhibit B above) you should notice whether the word
“heat”, “cool” or “auto” appears in the area where the temperature
appears. Look on the left side of
the temperature numbers for one of these three indicators. If it is not on the word “auto” push
the mode button until the word “auto” appears.
IF
YOU WANT TO INCREASE THE TEMPERATURE
- If the temperature
reads 72 degrees and you want to make it warmer use the arrow button
pointing up (located on the right side of the thermostat – see Exhibit A)
to increase the number 72 to the desired temperature number.
- The thermostat will
interpret your desire to increase the temperature to the new temperature
you entered and now appearing on the thermostat and will automatically
reset the control to the new desired temperature. You should see the word “reset” appear
in the area where the numbers appear (watch in upper right hand
corner). This means that the
temperature has been reset to your new temperature.
- The temperature should
begin to increase to the new desired temperature.
- Check the thermostat
approximately two hours after you have reset the temperature to insure that
the temperature has changed to what you set it at.
IF
YOU WANT TO MAKE IT COOLER
- If the temperature
reads 75 degrees and you want to make it cooler use the arrow button
pointing down (located on the right side of the thermostat – see Exhibit
A) to decrease the number 75 to 72 or the desired temperature number.
- The thermostat will
interpret your desire to decrease the temperature to the new temperature
you entered and will automatically reset the control to the new desired
temperature. You should see the
word “reset” appear in the area where the numbers appear (watch in upper
right hand corner). This means
that the temperature has been reset to your new temperature.
- The temperature should
begin to decrease to the new desired temperature.
- Check the thermostat
approximately two hours after you have reset the temperature to insure
that the temperature has changed to what you set it at.
